Event: Our School Our Voice Programme: In conjunction with Earth Day Celebration – 3Rs Superhero Fashion Show
Date: 19 May 2023

Earth Day was commemorated in Katong School on 19 May to promote environmental conservation and sustainability amongst our students. They learnt to express themselves in creative and fun ways while playing their part to save the earth. They also learnt about the importance of protecting Earth’s natural resources.

The secondary students participated in an educational gallery walk to learn about recycling from the creative work done by their peers. Our lower secondary students had put up photographs of themselves practising the 3Rs (reduce, reuse and recycle) while our upper secondary students had created informative collages to educate others to recycle correctly using the common blue recycling bins.

Our celebrations culminated in an exciting 3Rs Superhero fashion show. The chosen class representatives paraded their creative and colourful costumes confidently on stage to loud cheers from their teachers and classmates. The costumes were designed and made from recyclable materials through a collaborative effort from the students in every class. The costumes were judged based on their use of recyclable materials, presentation and creativity.
