KS students and staff supporting the run
APSN has formed a partnership with Runninghour Co-Operative in the effort to increase understanding and support towards people with special needs. Runninghour Co-Operative will be organising a National Inclusive Race in 2015.
On 25 October 2014 at the Bishan Stadium, the launch of the run was made by Deputy Secretary of MCCY, Mr Hugh Lim. The turnout was energetic as they made their way to run 50 laps on the track in conjunction with SG50. Volunteers were running hand-in-hand with their special needs charges while forging a friendship at the same time.
Runninghour Co-Operative will garner volunteers to run or walk with intellectually challenged youths at the race and pre–race trainings. They have also organised numerous pre-race workshops to help volunteers understand their roles.
