Students from APSN Katong School began the year with a series of purposeful activities designed to help them transit smoothly into school routines while practising the 3 Positive Behaviour Supports and Interventions expectations of “Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Responsible”.

Through the activities, students practised key social-emotional competencies such as awareness of self and others. Student feedback reflected the positive experience.

“TOP was really enjoyable. We learnt about teamwork through games and activities with my friends and teachers.”
- Aqmal, Sec 3 student

“I felt happy and enjoyed spending time and re-connecting with my friends back in school.”
- Kayla, Sec 4 student

“I learned to play with my new schoolmates. We worked together and had fun.”
- Ashie, Pri 3 pupil

“I was happy playing together and completing the team activities with my new teacher and friends. I am ready to learn together with them!”
- Quraisha, Pri 6 pupil

These start-of-year activities set a positive tone for learning, helping students build confidence, friendships and essential social-emotional skills.
