The launch of the APSN Centre for Adults’ bakery training programme at Jalan Tembusu in 2012 marked a defining shift from sheltered workshop engagement to training through real economic participation. By equipping trainees with baking skills and bringing their products to market through cookie sales, APSN CFA demonstrated that adults with special needs could produce quality goods with commercial value, thereby building confidence, independence, and employability. This milestone laid the groundwork for APSN CFA’s later expansion into specialised food and enterprise-based vocational programmes.
