Weaving Dreams, Shaping Futures
“Threads of Aspiration” is a celebratory gala event showcasing accessories that embody the dreams and imagined futures of APSN’s beneficiaries—expressed through vibrant prints, innovative textile techniques, and symbolic design elements.
Each piece is a wearable story, transforming aspirations—be it a future chef, athlete, teacher, artist, or entrepreneur—into tactile, expressive forms of design. Since 1976, we’ve supported over 6,600 students, trainees, and alumni. We operate four SPED schools, a Student Care Centre, a Centre for Adults, and a Learning Hub — serving individuals aged 7 and up. Our holistic curriculum combines academic, vocational, and social skills to prepare beneficiaries for open employment and lifelong learning. We also work with partners and the wider community to build a more inclusive society.

Since 2021, Faiqah has been creating a safe, nurturing space for children with special needs at our Student Care Centre. From planning daily programmes to guiding students through emotional self-regulation, her role goes beyond routines. For her, this role is about helping every child grow with confidence and dignity.

Celebrating a powerful collaboration with #DHLExpressSingapore! Our recent event brought together over 50 attendees from both their Tai Seng SEA office and global HQ at Aperia Mall, fostering rich discussions on Inclusive Hiring, Workplace Diversity, and how CSR initiatives can create lasting impact for both businesses and communities.
We were honoured to hear from Christopher Ong, Managing Director of DHL Express Singapore, and Chitra Shinde, Head of Operations, who shared valuable insights on embedding inclusion and purpose into corporate strategy. Representing APSN, Stanley Tang, CEO, and Edwin Chan, Principal of APSN Delta Senior School, offered heartfelt perspectives on the importance of empowering individuals of all abilities through meaningful employment.
A true highlight was the sharing by P. Rathakrishnan Naidu, a 32-year-old APSN alumni who is currently working as a housekeeper in the children’s ward at NUH. His story was a powerful reminder of how inclusive hiring transforms lives.
We also loved showcasing our trainees’ delicious baked goods—handmade with purpose and pride.

22 January 2025 — A huge thank you to Temasek Polytechnic (TP) for officially adopting APSN as their charity partner!
This meaningful partnership was sealed today at APSN Café for All through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. Through this collaboration, we will work towards a co-developing curriculum that supports Pre-Employment Training and Continuing Education and Training programmes.
In addition, TP is also exploring internship opportunities, student projects, and staff engagement initiatives with us, fostering collaboration at every level.

This partnership creates valuable avenues for our trainees to gain real-world experience and build essential life and work skills. Here’s how your support makes a difference:
Trainees receive hands-on work experience at IKEA stores, helping them build confidence, develop job readiness, and prepare for independent living.

14 May 2025 — ABR Holdings Ltd renewed its commitment to inclusive employment, signing a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with APSN Ltd at the grand opening of Swensen’s Unlimited at Geneo, Singapore Science Park 1.
Swensen’s first partnered with APSN in 2008 and remains a strong advocate for inclusive employment, with individuals with special needs now making up 10% of its workforce.
Earlier this year, Swensen’s launched the Pledge & Indulge campaign, where a $10 donation earns supporters two scoops of ice cream at the APSN Café for All — while helping our trainees hone essential skills like scooping and serving.
