National Council of Social Service (NCSS) announced yesterday new initiatives to attract and retain talent in the sector that is facing a shortage of manpower.
As this sector grows, a demand of 3000 workers is needed in the coming 2 years. It had taken the social service sector 10 years to expand its manpower force by more than 50% to its current 13,000 staff strength. The new initiatives include debunking fallacies about the sector. In the interview with TODAY, APSN President, Mr Victor Tay spoke on the challenges faced in finding the right staff to work in social service organisations.
