Mrs Alice Teo

APSN Katong School Vice-Principal

Mrs Alice Teo joined APSN in 2013 as Vice-Principal of APSN Delta Senior School (DSS) and is currently Vice-Principal of APSN Katong School.  She has about 35 years of experience in education and training; firstly, as a teacher and Head of Department with Ministry of Education, and subsequently as Head of the Centre for Employability Skills with Workforce Development Agency (WDA) and Senior Manager in other institutions.

Alice graduated with Master of Arts by Research from Nanyang Technological University in 2006. Her thesis is on ‘Exploring the use of collaborative peer assessment through narrative and expository texts in the English Language curriculum’.  She also holds Bachelor of Arts from National University of Singapore, Post-graduate Diploma-in-Education from National Institute of Education, Singapore, Post-graduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics from SEAMEO Regional Language Centre, Singapore and completed the Management and Leadership in Schools programme with National Institute of Education, Singapore.

Alice was the recipient of the Best Cluster Suggestion Award (2001), and topped her cohort for Post-graduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics (2002). She was also a key member of the team that pioneered the Workplace Literacy and Numeracy assessments during her work with WDA (2006 – 2008).  As Vice-Principal, she received the APSN DSS Outstanding Contribution Team Award (2015), and was instrumental for MOE-NCSS Innovation Award (2016); School Innovation Team Award (2017); and RAFT Award (2017).
