Inter-SPED Creative Challenge 2018

Pitting their skills against others were students from 8 participating schools in the Inter-SPED Creative Challenge. Working collaboratively to complete tasks such as cooking a signature dish, creating a floral centrepiece, and preparing a mocktail proved what these students could do, even under pressure!

Participating schools included MINDS Woodlands Gardens School, MINDS Towner Gardens School, MINDS Fernvale Gardens School, Grace Orchard School, Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School, APSN Tanglin School, APSN Katong School as well as APSN Delta Senior School (DSS).

This is the 2nd Inter-SPED Creative Challenge, whereby students from 8 special schools had the chance to showcase their vocational skills. Held on 22 September 2018 at APSN DSS, judges on the panel were from the hospitality industry. The aim of this vocational challenge was to bring out students’ best effort by drawing on their creativity, strengths, skills and ability to work as a team. This event also serves as a platform for students and staff from various schools in the sector to interact and network with each other.

The first time the Inter-SPED Creative Challenge was held was in 2017. The initiative is aligned to the SPED Curriculum Framework which equips students with the required knowledge, skills and attributes for achieving outcomes within the Living, Learning and Working domains in the 21st century.
