Founded in 1997, Delta Senior School (DSS) was conceived as a post-secondary school within APSN. Students who graduated from our secondary schools (Tanglin School) at age 16 years would proceed to DSS for vocational training. After this period, for those students who are able, they are then placed into open employment. For those who are not quite job-ready, they proceed on to the Centre for Adults, where they continue to receive training for job employment.
In 2008, DSS adopted the WSQ Certification under the Singapore Work Development Agency (WDA).
DSS was accredited as an Approved Training Organisation (ATO) by WDA in 2009.
There are currently three areas of Vocation offerings :- (1) Hospitality Services; (2) Landscape Operation and (3) Food and Beverage Services/Production. To obtain a full WSQ Certificate, a typical student has to obtain at least 7 Statements of Attainment This training may go up to the age of 21 under MOE funding.
The vocational programme is reviewed regularly to respond to the learning needs of our students. Alternative school and certification pathways are considered for those who may not suit the WSQ Certification.
DSS is scheduled to move into its new custom-built school building in Choa Chu Kang Grove by June 2012.
