Launched in June 2016, “See the True Me” is a five-year public education campaign organised by the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) to raise awareness of the issues faced by the disabled and promote inclusion in Singapore. Since its launch, NCSS has worked closely with APSN on various platforms, such as print, online and radio channels to showcase the strengths and abilities of our beneficiaries and the special needs community.
In this article, seven individuals, including four APSN Alumni were featured for leading dignified, fulfilling and independent lives as integral members of the society. They are Paul Simon, a cook at Shangri-la’s Rasa Sentosa Resort and Spa; Rueban Swaminathan, a stable hand at Equestrian Federation of Singapore; Goh Yu Xiang, an instructor aide at APSN TS and Tan Wai Loon, an instructor assistant at APSN CFA. This is in line with the International Day of Disabled Persons yesterday.
